We are headed to Pine Valley, CA for the 3rd Life Impact Staff Conference!
We started LI in 2003 in our Oasis in Sunriver, OR. Our goal was to strengthen missionaries for the work God called them to. The needs were great, and the workers coming and going for coaching and retreat were very thankful. The work expanded so now there are 12 active Oases around the globe, and a couple more coming on-line in 2016.
We finished an active role in Life Impact yesterday (I’m writing this on New Year’s day 2016) after 12 years as President. David Knauss has now taken over that role. I’ll continue to support LI as a Board member. And we want to spend some of our time going forward, developing resources to help Missionaries create their funding. (www.FundTheMinistry.com)
After the Staff Conference we’re taking two weeks in a Condo for a personal retreat. Our major task (besides having some fun as well) is to process what our lives should look like going forward. As servants of our Lord, what does He want for us as we restructure our time and lives? Please pray for us in this (Jan 16-29)
And you are probably in your 2016 Planning as well. In light of that I want to pass on to you a good blog post by Michael Hyatt, 5 Major Goal -Setting Myths That Keep You Stuck.
“Steve Mura was a Triple-A baseball pitcher. He was starting one night in an away game, but he almost lost before leaving the dugout. Why?
“I can never win on this mound,” he told his pitching coach and shook his head. For Mura, the game was already over, and he hadn’t even thrown the first pitch!
When it comes to making progress towards what matters most in life, there are at least five major myths we need to avoid like quicksand. . .” (read more)
